Ear Microsuction

The Ear Microsuction Training Course is designed for pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and dispensers who wish to acquire or enhance their skills in the safe and effective removal of ear wax using microsuction technology. This comprehensive course combines theoretical knowledge with practical training, ensuring participants are well-equipped to perform microsuction safely and competently.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

  • Understand Ear Anatomy and Physiology: Gain a detailed understanding of the ear’s anatomy and its functioning to ensure safe and effective treatment.
  • Identify Ear Conditions: Learn to recognise common and uncommon ear pathologies that may affect or contraindicate the use of microsuction.
  • Master Microsuction Techniques: Acquire the skills to effectively use microsuction equipment, including handling, safety measures, and technique precision.
  • Ensure Patient Safety and Comfort: Emphasise the importance of patient safety, comfort, and communication during the procedure.

  • Practice Hands-On Skills: Gain practical experience through supervised sessions, enhancing both confidence and competence in performing the procedure.

  • The required age is 18.
  • Direct entry for pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and dispensers.
  • Those who do not hold the above qualifications, should should enrol in the Level 2 Dispensing Course at first.
