Questions
CAVA Assessor Qualification: questions before you enrol
How is it assessed?
The first unit is assessed through written work. For the two practice units you carry out at least eight assessments of real learners, four at work and four in a training environment, and our assessor observes you and examines your records. Simulation is not allowed. TQUK must approve our assessment materials before we use them with any learner.
How long does it take?
Usually one to three months, depending on when you can assess your own learners. TQUK rates it at 150 hours of study in total, 84 of them guided.
What are the entry requirements?
You must be 18 or over, with a minimum of Level 2 in literacy or numeracy, or equivalent. You also need real learners to assess: at least two in a work environment and two in a training environment.
Is it graded?
No. It is assessed internally and is Pass or Fail. You pass when you have met every learning outcome and assessment criterion.
