The Travel Vaccination Training Course is designed for both healthcare professionals and non-medical therapists who wish to expand their expertise in travel medicine, specifically in administering and managing travel vaccinations. This course provides participants with the knowledge and practical skills needed to advise and protect travelers against vaccine-preventable diseases.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

  • Understand Travel Medicine: Develop a solid understanding of the fundamentals of travel medicine, including the role and importance of vaccinations in preventing travel-related health risks.
  • Identify Vaccine-Preventable Diseases: Gain knowledge about various diseases that travelers are at risk for in different regions, such as yellow fever, typhoid fever, hepatitis A, and B, and how these can be prevented through vaccination.
  • Master Vaccination Protocols: Acquire expertise in the specifics of travel vaccines, including indications, contraindications, administration techniques, dosages, and schedules.
  • Conduct Effective Risk Assessments: Learn to perform thorough pre-travel health assessments, evaluating travelers’ health histories and specific risks associated with their destinations and travel plans.
  • Manage Vaccine Side Effects: Equip with the skills to advise on, manage, and treat common side effects and adverse reactions associated with travel vaccinations.
  • Adhere to Legal and Ethical Standards: Understand the legal responsibilities and ethical considerations in administering vaccines, including patient consent, proper documentation, and vaccine storage.
  • Enhance Communication Skills: Improve communication techniques to effectively educate and inform travelers about vaccine schedules, necessary health precautions, and how to manage health while abroad.

ELIGIBILITY

  • The required age is 18.
  • Registered Medical Professionals
  • Non-medical therapists qualified in at least Level 4 Anatomy & Physiology.
  • Certification in Injection Techniques.
  • Upon completing the training, non-medical delegates are required to register with the Same Day Clinic X Pharmacy. This registration will enable them to receive ongoing clinical supervision, essential for administering the procedure.
